ABOUT ME:

My COACHING PRACTICE:
I have been fortunate to have worked in NHS General Practice for many years which has been rewarding and interesting throughout. As I think back to those who mentored me, I remember the huge difference they made in terms of encouragement and guidance; resulting in me growing and developing in ways I hadn't imagined. Coaching made the difference in developing me as a leader later in my career by enabling me to reflect, 'stretch' and build on experiences.
Leadership
I have an interest in leadership skills development in early to mid career healthcare professionals - in particular doctors. Coaching helped me during my career and I am passionate about encouraging more young medical professionals to use coaching early in their career journey.
Self-Awareness
I have personally found coaching techniques of reflection and increased awareness of my responses in the workplace to be helpful. Improved emotional awareness and agility are skills we can develop and coaching can assist with this.
Resilience
Modern day working generally, and in the NHS, is undoubtedly stressful and can take its toll emotionally and mentally. Coaching provides an opportunity to improve mental wellbeing, avoid burn-out and increase resilience by understanding ourselves, our patterns of behaviour and devising methods to reset boundaries.
My Coaching Aims:
I believe that leadership behaviours, skills and experience are vital in all doctors and healthcare professionals and should be developed early, and throughout, their career. My coaching practice focusses on early to mid career medical leaders, bringing together my experience as an accredited coach, feedback facilitator and my interest in healthcare leadership. My approach helps by providing a safe space for professionals to reflect on, and make sense of, their skills & experience and transition positively, with resilience, to new goals and ways forward.
